Here are some typical "is Rob straight?" tracks... take it or leave it, I like them.

It Has Been A While
Sorry, my work computer was down. For some reason I only like blogging from it. I guess I'll have to get over that habit eventually. Anyway, I think this is one of the best songs I have heard in a while... It's off of the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World soundtrack. While watching the movie, one of the bands plays this and I thought it sounded a lot like Metric. Sure enough is it Canadian Emily Haines belting out those OOooooOOOooooos.

Dear Rosemary
Sweet new track from the Foos. Rosemary is a perfect "rock song girl" name because nobody actually knows one; your song can never be to anyone specific! Must be awkward playing the drums in a suit...

WTF, UMG
Why does Universal Music Group keep removing YouTube videos. Don't they realize that YouTube is the #1 way people hear new music now? No wonder all of these big companies are going under.

More Lupe
I know some Fiasco was posted a while ago, but I think this song is too good not to mention. Pretty rad that Lupe sampled Modest Mouse - Float On for this song...

Oldies/Goodies
So I haven't been listening to as much new music because my mom gifted me a couple of her old records. The gem of the two was the Beatles hits from 67-70; I had no idea all these awesome songs were written in 3 years. Below is one of my favorites I wasn't familiar with previously. A music snob may think, Alex, how could you not know every song on that album, and then laugh at me. But like the fool on the hill, I will laugh back, because I still get to hear them all with new ears.
Here is another favorite from one of the ones she gave me. This is one of those songs that somehow only has the same effect on an old record, with all the pops and crackles:
This song pissed me off twice
First it made me mad that I liked it and that I was forced to post it. Which then meant that you would make fun of me.
THEN, I go and look for a video of it and see that iPod used it in a commercial FML.
Whatever, listen and like it.

Solid Noise
After a while with the new RA album, I think the blog title says it all; a really solid album. It got a lot of bad reviews, but I think it is great because there are a lot fewer singles and the songs sit with you longer in my opinion.
Laugh Now, Laugh Later
Okay, so there's nothing actually new about the new song, but why mess around? Check the link after the picture to listen.

April Fools Day, I wish this snow was a joke...
Thanks Will for this tip.
